Abstract

Man without information is a beast and information without man is a myth. Therefore, information is highly important in the University of knowledge and society. In information society, information is power. Libraries and information centres are the power houses of academic research and industrial setups. The advent of ICTs and the internet have forever changed the way information is gathered, processed and disseminated. This research paper is a case study of Vishveshwaraya Technology University Research Centre in Karnataka that maps the ICT skill levels of the LIS professionals working in such libraries with set parameters that are basically essential for any LIS professional in this era of technology.
