The present study aimed at evaluating the effectiveness of Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) intervention program in reducing depression in infertile women.A purposive sample of 50 primary infertile women (Diagnosed by the concerned hospital specialist) selected from Mediwave IVF & Fertility Research Hospital in Mysore, India, and their spouse interviewed individually with a request to cooperate in the research. 40 infertile women were selected randomly, then were divided into experimental group (N=20) and control group (N= 20).All subjects were assessed using Beck Depression Inventory-II (BDI-II).The experimental group received (REBT) intervention for a period of 4 months. Results showed a significant difference between the experimental and control groups assessment on (BDI-II) score. The Results suggest that REBT can be an effective in reducing symptoms of depression related to infertility and in coping.
