Teaching concepts and strategies using case studies are widely used in business schools. It has been proved by studies that this method of course deliver is much detailed. Because it is contextually rich in detail, and it exposes the students to alternative strategies, application of theoretical concepts, active learning and better decision making. This article introduces the advantages of case method of teaching in Library and Information Science (LIS) education. The article addresses three questions: (1) Can case method of teaching be introduced in LIS field? (2) How can teaching case studies add value to the existing teaching methodology? (3) Can case method of teaching will able to introduce theoretical concepts of LIS? It discusses the case of a librarian about the adoption of innovative methods in bringing changes in the library. The article concludes that teaching case studies in Indian LIS education are an unexploited and readily available source to bring change and to introduce one of the Best Practices in teaching-learning process of LIS education.
