Abstract

Computers store text/data in the form of 0s and 1s. Before storing text in computers, it has to be converted in to specified sequence of 0s and 1s.Concepts like code page and encoding describe the way text is stored in computers, in files and data structures, and how applications handle such text. Inside a computer program or data file, text is stored as a sequence of numbers, just like everything else. These sequences are integers of various sizes, values, and interpretations, and it is the code pages, character sets, and encodings that determine how integer values are interpreted.
