Abstract

In the title compound, C\sb 17H\sb 12Cl\sb 2O\sb 2S, the benzene rings are inclined to one another by 84.59(16)\circ. The enaminone group is present in a synclinal conformation with respect to the chloro\-benzene moiety. The configuration of the C=C bond is \it Z. There is a short intra\-molecular C—-H⋅sO contact present forming an \it S(6) ring motif. In the crystal, mol\-ecules are linked by C—-H⋅sO hydrogen bonds, forming layers lying parallel to the (10-1) plane.
