In this article the perception of innovation is studied with various models of innovation that are linked with international trade. Various models that present technology gap between importing and exporting countries, impact of technological innovation on international trade are discussed. Technological innovations are part of international trade as it forms a major part of infrastructure that supports international trade. Hence the relationship between international trade and technological innovations is analyzed briefly taking into account the Technology Achievement Index (TAI-a measure of technological innovation) which is considered to study the achievement in e-commerce as advanced trade technology. The results of this empirical study show that absolute technological leaders have immense capacity to use advanced technology in the time to come.
