Synthesis of 2,5-diaryl-1,3,4-oxadiazoles (2a-e) by the oxidation of acyl hydrazones (1a-e) with chloramine-T trihydrate has been achieved. Spectral data including mass spectral fragmentation pattern of these compounds are also discusses here.
