Abstract

Total attenuation cross sections of several amino acids have been measured for 661.6, 1173 and 1332.5 keV photons in a narrow beam good geometry set up, using a hyper pure germanium detector. The values are compared with the values calculated with the aid of mixture rule from the data of Hubbell Hubbell J. H. (1982), Int. J. Appl. Radiat. Isot. 33, 1269] for the individual elements.
