Abstract

The crystal structure of cholesteryl methyl carbonate, C29H48O3, M = 444.69 crystallizing in the monoclinic space group P 2(1) with a = 16.993(2) angstrom, b = 7.671(2) angstrom, c = 10.599(2) angstrom, beta = 102.93(3)-degrees , V = 1346.6 angstrom3, Z = 2, D(m) = 1.092 mgm-3, D(c) = 1.097 mgm-3, Cu K(alpha) radiation, mu = 0.5 mm-1 was determined to R(f) = 0.069 (R(w) = 0.037) for 1252 observed reflections out of a total of 2544 reflections with I > 2-sigma(I).
