By using proteomic techniques we try to find out how, where, when, and what are the several hundred thousands of individual protein species in a living organisms were produced, how they interact with one another in order to fill the developmental program and responses to their environment. Plant proteomic studies is drastically expanded in last few years, a good progress is made in the mass spectrometry, two dimensional image analysis and bioinformatics tools have made the identification of proteins easy. Even though for the construction of an proteomic profile of any plant which requires the complete sequence of a genome. Earlier only five plants have their genomes completely sequenced viz., Arabidopsis thaliana, Cyanidioschyzon merolae, Oryza sativa, Ostreococcus tauri and Populus trichocarpa now a major amount of plants has been sequenced. In this review we mainly discuss the contribution of proteomics to study the plant-pathogen interactions, recent trends and future prospects
