Abstract

Nasicon superionic conductors NaNi2ZrP3O12, Na2(La,Co)TiP3O12, and Na2(La,Al)TiP3O12 for use in solid electrolyte batteries have high frequency dispersion and ionic cond. and mobile ion concn. of 10-12-10-9/Ω-cm-Hz. The hopping rate and d.c. cond. of the materials are lower than those of Na-β''-alumina. The materials do not absorb energy, but allow it to flow through, typical of ionic superconductors.
