Abstract

Akaganeite [12134-57-5] Was synthesized under different conditions of hydrolysis of FeCl3 solns. (at 60-65° and 1 atm); its decompn. was studied by DTA. The temp. of transformation of akaganeite to α-Fe2O3 depends on the excess H2O/Cl ratio present in the channels of the tetragonal structure of akaganeite. [on SciFinder(R)]
