Abstract
Free radical scavenging potential of solvent extracts of Canthium parviflorum (Rubiaceae) was examined by in vitro antioxidant methods: 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl, radical scavenging assay, reducing power assay, metal chelating, and superoxide anion radicals scavenging assays. Results indicated that methanol extract of C. parviflorum was highly effective against free radical-mediated diseases compared to other solvent extracts.
