Abstract

Salen metal complexes act as good catalysts for reactions in homogenised, heterogenised and heterogenised-homogeneous conditions. A simple method for the synthesis of benzhydrol derivatives is proposed using anisole and substituted benzaldehydes in the presence of a salen metal catalyst at high temperature and pressure using Morey autoclave. The compounds were isolated in good yield and were characterized by spectral and analytical methods.
