Abstract

1,3,5-triaryl-4,6-dioxo-pyrrolo[3,4-d]-7,8-dihydropyrzoles (3) were synthesized by 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition reaction of nitrile imines generated in situ by the catalytic dehydrogenation of aromatic aldehyde hydrazones (2) with N-aryl maleimides (1). The new molecules were characterized by spectral analysis and were evaluated in vitro for their antibacterial, antifungal and antioxidant activities.
