Abstract

A simple titrimetric method for the determination of percentage of the enol form in the beta-keto carbonyl compounds is described. The method involves the addition of chloramine-T (CAT) to beta-keto carbonyl compounds dissolved in absolute alcohol, followed by the determination of the unreacted CAT by iodometry.
