Abstract
Sargur Supracrustals from the Coorg granulite block comprise st*-grt-sil-ky-crd-bio assemblages. Staurolite from this association is rich in ZnO content up to 3.7%. Late bluish kyanite mantling garnet exposed around Jalsoor, Siddapura and Mercara localities situated along the Mangalore-Mercara lineament suggests that the Coorg granulite block had a long middle to deep crustal residence. Development of cordierite around garnet with fibrolite reported from this zone took place at a later stage. Estimation of P-T vary from 550degreesC-750degreesC and 4.5-8.6 kbars.
