Structural change largely defined as shifting from one structure to another structure. Structural change in energy also assumed the meaning in the same lines; shifting form one level of energy consumption to another level of energy consumption. In the present paper an attempt has made to examine the shifting of energy consumption along with level of income and level of energy efficiency. The study has used secondary time series data for 48 countries form 1987–2015. The structural ANOVA dummy variable regression models have used to estimate the structural changes. It has been identified form the structural analysis that structure has significant impact on level of GDP, level of PCI, level of energy consumption and level of energy efficiency. Therefore, there are structural changes in level of GDP, level of PCI, level of energy consumption, level of energy efficiency. Accordingly, as the country move from lower structure to higher structure its GDP, PCI, per capita energy consumption and energy efficiency will be increased. Therefore, there is close association between structural change and energy efficiency. Hence, the study argue for moving of the economies from lower level to higher level structures to enjoy the higher level of energy consumption along with increased efficiency which is the necessity of the world for sustainable development.
