Abstract

3-Ethylcarboxy-4-trimethoxyphenyl-6,7-dimethyl-methylenedioxy-1-tetralon e 5 and 3-ethyl carboxy-4-trimethoxy phenyl-6,7-ethyl methyl-methylenedioxy-1-tetralone 6, intermediates for the synthesis of analogues 3 and 4 respectively of beta-apopicropodophyllin 2 have been synthesised.
