Abstract

The availability of information resources for the course curriculum in different pockets - online journal, financial database, open repositories, e-learning portal, library collection, etc.- has made the courses in b-school incomplete without teaching the student how to be an effective information manager. The process of teaching effective information management makes the student 'information literate'. This study discusses the importance of collaborative effort of the faculty community and the librarian of a b-school in Information Literacy Program (ILP) of the institute. Further, the paper discusses on embedding the ILP in the course outlines of b-school curriculum. The authors opine that this collaborative effort will increase the critical thinking and better decision making, which are the key requisites for an effective manager.
