Abstract
The synthesis of compounds containing a novel tetracyclic condensed quinoline system, pyrimido4',5'-4,5]selenolo2,3-b]quinoline, by successive building up of selenophene and pyrimidine rings on quinoline, employing 3-cyanoquinolin-2(1H)-selenones as key intermediates is reported.
