Abstract

Equilibrium curves were obtained for the decomposition of NiCO3 and CoCO3 to their respective monoxides and CO2 in the pressure range 300-2000 bars and temperatures up to 700-degrees-C under X(CO2) close to 0.5. The reversed phase equilibrium runs were performed at selected P-T values and thermodynamic data were deduced for CoCO3 and NiCO3 as follows: CoCO3-DELTA-H(f)o = - 732.211 +/- 3.10 kJ/mol, DELTA-G(f)o = - 657.266 +/- 3.10 kJ/mol NiCO3-DELTA-H(f)o = - 703.380 +/- 1.24 kJ/mol, DELTA-G(f)o = - 628.359 +/- 1.24 kJ/mol
