Intra- and interspecific adult competition studies were made among the three abundant and sympatric species namely, Drosophila malerkotliana, Drosophila bipectinata and Drosophila nasuta nasuta. The parameters such as productivity and population size of adaptedness were evaluated. The results have revealed that D. malerkotliana shadows the other two competitors both in productivity and population size. On the other hand D. n. nasuta is a weak competitor. Thus, based on adult competition the sequence can be depicted as D. malerkotliana > D. bipectinata. > D. n. nasuta.
