Abstract
Migration and urbanization are direct manifestations of the processof economic development, particularly in the contemporary phase ofglobalization. In recent years, several changes in India are likely tohave impacted the pattern and pace of migration.The pattern of growthin the last two decades has steadily widened the gap between agricultureand non-agriculture and between rural and urban areas.A good numberof studies have been done on the different dimensions of internal labourmigration; some of the studies concentrate on dynamics of migratoryflows and growth in a developing economy. This study aims to examinethe socio economic status of the migrants from rural to urban areasduring post migration period and to study the impact of urban migrationon rural agriculture.
