Abstract

Naphthidine, dimethylnaphthidine, dimethylnaphthidinedisulfonic acid, o-dianisidine, Quinoline Yellow, diphenylbenzidine, and Amaranth were used as indicators in titrations of As(III), Fe(II), Sb(III), hydroquinone, hydrazinium sulfate, phenylhydrazine hydrochloride, semicarbazide hydrochloride, and ascorbic acid with dichloramine-B. These indicators gave a very sharp color change at the equivalence point. As(III) and Fe(II) were used to standardize dichloramine-B solutions For a vitamin C preparation containing 500 mg ascorbic acid 495.5 mg were determined by this method compared with 497.8 mg by the B.P. method.
