Abstract

Complexes of nimesulide with Co(II) Ni(II) and manganous(II) were synthesized. These complexes were characterized using elemental anal., IR, TGA, 1H NMR, magnetic susceptibility and molar cond. measurements. These studies revealed the complexes have octahedral geometry [ML(H2O)2X2] where M = Co(II), Ni(II) and Mn(II); L = C13H12N2SO5; X = Cl, Br, ClO4 and 0.5SO4. These nimesulide metal complexes are biol. active. The in vitro antifungal studies indicated that these complexes are potent against a few tested fungi. [on SciFinder(R)]
