Abstract

Cinnarizine and lignocaine assocd. with halo, thiocyanato, nitrato and mixed ligand uranyl anionic complexes were prepd. in acidic condition by slow evapn. technique. These complexes fluoresce under UV light with an intense greenish yellow color, a characteristic feature of uranyl complexes. The complexes were characterized by elemental anal., molar cond. measurements, TGA and spectral studies which include UV-visible, IR, 1H NMR and 13C NMR. Based on these studies the complexes were cinnarizine ion pair [C26H30N2][UO2Cl4], and lignocaine ion pairs [C14H23N2O]2[UO2X4] where X = Cl, Br, NCS and NO3, [C14H23N2O]2[UO2Cl2(NO3)2] and [C14H23N2O]2[UO2Cl3(NO3)].
