Abstract

Positron lifetime measurements are done in the eutectic alloy of Pb-Sn-Sb system as a function of isochronal annealing temp. at 25-230°. All the measured spectra are best fitted to a single lifetime component. Values of av. lifetime obsd. in the alloy indicate the presence of at. excitons in the system. There is formation of decorated clusters in the alloy and the system gets a cored structure when it is rapidly cooled from its liquidus state. [on SciFinder(R)]
