Abstract

A 16-fold purifn. of ATPase from N.naja venom was achieved by a single-step chromatog. procedure. K gymnemate extd. from Gymnema sylvestre, a folk medicinal plant for snake bite, inhibited ATPase, a toxic component of the venom. ATP and gymnemate bind at the same site(s) as shown by a spectrofluorimetric method. [on SciFinder(R)]
